A simple question from me, why? The present 6 speed auto seems to do everything its designed for ie changing up and down gears.

One of the main complaints about the Evoque is it's poor fuel economy and it's gearbox(if you read the reviews). The 9 speed will be a lot slicker and meant to improve fuel economy by 16%, while reducing CO2 emissions by the same amount(v important in fleet sales and targets set by government for car companies to reduce their overall CO2 average)

Because I can Tongue Out

And as a simple rule, I seldom buy a first release of a product. Especially when it comes to amount of money you need to spend. Once the little niggles are taken care off, you generally good to go.

RE: MY14 ???

I would of bought the auto but the manual was a better option, the 6 speed auto was more expensive to buy initially ,worse economy, higher ved band (mainly due to lack of stop/start).If the new 9 speeder is better economy wise and probably in the same tax band as the manual and quicker then that sounds like a no brainer, even the inevitable higher initial outlay would probably be recouped over the years and miles.
As soon as its launched I will be straight down to the dealer and order will be placed, still go for a coupe but probably grey with black contrast pano roof but keep the rest of the spec same as I have now.

My order- fuji white sd4 manual coupe,tech pack,xenons,style 6 20's,pano roof,privacy,front fogs,rear camera,folding mirrors,ebony int/ivory headliner,dec delivery.(still waiting!) Collected 14/01/2012
NOW SOLD as of 26/07/14 Very Happy
Now driving Audi SQ5, everything the Evoque should of been.

I will also opt for the new auto on the next car. Probably go for Havana, possibly a coupe.

RE: MY14 ???

That's good because late in 2014 my Evoque will be 3 years old and I have to decide whether to keep it, replace it with a new one or go for an Audi A4 Allroad. After 20 years of Land Rover ownership I think that LR is pricing them out of
my league and I will have to go for something that will see me into retirement and that I know will not self destruct once the warranty has run out like modern Land Rovers tend to. My 1996 Defender will still be going strong long after my Evoque, with its simple to fix mechanicals.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: MY14 ???

I agree Tim, LRs pricing is getting ridiculous. Even the Fl2 is getting pricey and not a lot on it. I always went with the GS spec as it had a reasonable spec list, now most things that were standard are now cost options.

RE: MY14 ???

When will the MY14 be for sale here in the states?
Will we finally get the sporty seats here in the states?
Will the states get dual view 8" screen?
