Labour fee for changing wheels?
Hi guys
So today I received the phone call from the dealer telling me that the car is ready to pick up at the end of next week. Currently the car has style 2 wheels and I was wanting to upgrade to style 6. It is $2000 extra, which is understandable as it is the listed price on the option list. Though my dealer said there would be an additional labour fee of $218.75 to swap them over. So I was just wondering if the price is reasonable or?
TD4 Fuji Pure, pano, contrast roof, tech, clear view, powered tailgate, style 6.

No idea how much that is in euros but I presume they are swapping the tyres as well? If so then I'd expect to pay around 120 euros.

In the UK I expect a dealer might want to charge for an hour's labour just to swap over 4 wheels. Therefore, about GBP150 inc VAT = +/-AUD220.
You would have thought though that as you had bought the style 6s through the dealer, from the options list, they would have fitted them for nothing as presumably they are making a margin on the sale of the bigger wheels.

My dealer changed them free of charge though when I mentioned it to the salesman he said £20 per wheel as in £10 on & £10 off though when I mentioned it to the parts/service dept he said they would do it when the car is PDi'd as the wheels have to come off anyway. Even £80 in the UK is taking the p*** given they use airguns.
If you arn't worried about the tyres that are currently on the car then drive to a local tyre specialist as they should do it for a nominal charge - that is unless the dealer does it FOC which they should do given the price of the wheels is extortionate in the first place.

Are you transferring the tyres to your new set of wheels?
Generally tyre shops charge $5 to strip and $20 to fit a tyre to a wheel.
There should be no cost if they are swapping a set of wheels/tyres for another set of wheels/tyres.

I would assume they just swap the whole set of wheels and tyres with another set because they use different tyre size

If you're going style 2 (17") to style 6 (20") then there is no tyre swapping to be done and the dealer is clearly trying it on. You shouldn't have to pay a penny for that!
