Its here...........let the glitch list commence

Mine has arrived Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

3 hours at the dealers for handover! Most of that was because the damn TV doesn't work Sad its got to go back in on Monday to have the drivers seat removed to get to a loose/disconnected cable. We have sound but no video from the TV tuner. USB videos work fine though.

The spare wheel is missing also, not sure if this is getting fitted on Monday too.

Other than that I'm over the moon with it and have had to drag myself out of it to come and post this.

I will post some photos as soon as it stops lashing down.

Off to Lancashire tomorrow to see the in laws so that should be a nice journey to get used to it.

Now the wait was most definitely worth it.

Thanks misfit, one more for the list the parking brake does not auto release in reverse. According to the manual it should.

I have to admit I love the adaptive lights, did not niece much movement on the headlights when cornering on the open road but the little extra lights that come on at junctions are very cool.

satnav test today

I hope you get your snag list sorted soon.

If you bought from Aberdeen, could I ask how you rate the dealer?

Enjoy your car!

I would say that the dealer rating will not be great - they couldn't have done the PDI very well if they didn't find the spare was missing and the TV didn't work when they were supposedly doing their checks.........

Otherwise congratulations on the delivery Edd, that will be a nice short running in run for you! One suggestion - if you have an automatic for the first 500 miles try not to let it climb steep hills in 6th with cruise control on (it will quite happily on the motorway as it is programmed to hold 6th longer in top with the cruise operating) - IMHO the revs
at 2000'ish in 6th are too low for a new engine to be running at under load, drop it down to 5th until you have a some miles on it.

edd,

I too struggled with the EPB and reverse, but some of this was down to operator malfunction,

i.e. if the door is ajar EPB will not release, if your seatbelt is not engaged EPB will not release, I always tend to reverse with seatbelt disconnected, so have to manually release by pushing EPB button forward.

I'm sure there was something else I was doing wrong but cannot remember now.

RE: Its here...........let the glitch list commence

Hi all, thanks for the congrats.

after yesterday's 350 mile journey I'm pleased to say that the glitch List is no longer. Well other than the tailgate which I forgot to mention in my first post. It has a mind off its own right now. Sometimes it opens all the way others it stops halfway and closed a bit. Dealer knows about it and has ordered 2 New struts for it.

@booty the dealership were pretty good apart from the obviously lack lustre performance with the PDI. They seem to be making all the right noises to rectify the issues.

Tim mines a manual but you are right it seems a little weak below 2k revs but it tells me to change up if you get above 2k. It's my first diesel so it's taking a little to get used to it.

EVO strangely enough its started working now. I'm pretty sure when it happened we were both seatbelts and doors shut.

I'm warming to the satnav too. It performed almost flawlessly yesterday. The only issues were causes by the wife just accepting the first route it came up with Which sent us via Edinburgh.(i did not know this at the time) then it kept telling us that traffic conditions had changed and when I looked at the new route it was avoiding an incident on the forth road bridge. Once I figured this out it was great I'm off now to find somewhere to drive too

cheers

RE: Its here...........let the glitch list commence

Mine is with the dealer now to get the issues fixed. It performed perfectly on the drive back up from Lancashire.

I got a 62 plate defender as a loaner as it was the only manual they had in. The salesman was going to give me his freelander until he found out I'd never driven an automatic he was not so keen then Laughing the defender is brilliant in an agricultural, old fashioned kind of way. My evoque will feel like a go cart when I get it back.

The dealer just called. Mine will not be ready today Sad

RE: Its here...........let the glitch list commence

You would surprised how many Evoque and Freelander owners buy a Defender as their 2nd car - agricultural it certain is but so much fun! Take you have a 2.2TDCi (the latest version as a demo) - it's a sleeved down Transit Van engine not the PSA/Ford Engine we have in the Evoque. First gear is almost unecessary on the road it is so short!

What lessons do you need to drive an auto?
