RE: How to convince my wife to buy Evoque?

Donot, can't help, if I had my time again to chose my company car I think I would go Q5 or X3 2.0tdi...

Evoque is lovely looking especially with the 20's etc but after 34k miles mine just doesn't feel well built which is a real shame, it could be mine was an early build and the minor niggles have been ironed out. The latest LR/RR products I have driven have all been very good and generally on par with the premium German cars, although my wife has an 18 month old e-coupe and it is rock solid, not a squeak or rattle, never been in for any fault, is very nice to drive and just feels like a premium product...evoque can't compete in terms of build quality (well not mine).

Had a brand new FL2 restyled version and it was lovely felt very well put together next to the evoque, they are built on same line so the latest evoque will probably be the same and I got a bad one built by all the new employees they needed to ramp up production in early 2012.

RE: How to convince my wife to buy Evoque?

We are on our 8th Land Rover product, my 2013 Evoque. We've had three Discos, an LR3, two Range Rovers (the L322 I still have) and a Range Rover Sport (wife's current car). We have had terrific luck with these cars, obviously. I bought my L322 new in 2003 and it's got nearly 100k miles on it and has only let me down once in it's history. One important aspect is our dealer who's as brilliant as the cars.

FWIW my 2013 feels solid as my big range. And also, FWIW, we looked at the Audis and really hated them. But the thing that really sold me on the Evoque was that in the US I could get magnetic suspension on the Dynamic as an option. Of course you can also get it on the Audi R8...

As opposed to what... a Canadian engine? Seriously though, not really sure what you mean.

You could get her to try the 2 cars back to back off road, I thing the evoque might win that test.

It's a fine power plant, not the best but a good unit, Seems the only option for you is to buy the Q5, then you won't have to worry about having a Peugeot/Ford engine and the wife won't continually say I told you so if somethings not right, an easy life if a little... boring!

It's a tough call in reality. The Evoque is pretty and really good fun to drive and it depends on what you want to use it for too - the Evoque is genuinely competent off road, the Q5 - well isn't really. It's supposed to be terrain sensing like the new full fat Range Rover - my money would still be on the Evoque.

A 3.0 Supercharged Q5 - is 354bhp or so I think and properly quick (we don't get it here) - if you do a lot of miles and need a good sat nav/would find the Google maps function useful then go for the Q5. I's its mostly short journey stuff and a big trunk area isn't a requirement then get the Evoque.

Delivered 15th May 2012, rejected and returned 4th Feb 2013 - SD4 5 door Prestige manual with a bucket full of rattles Mauritius Blue. Crazy Audi MY2020 RSQ3

thanks to Lord, Porsche is not mentioned in the list...

forget Audi or the sexy Evoque [which under the hood is actually Ford Focus and the rest is left over scrap from Volvo, Jag and other Outdated Brit technology]... wait a moment and get the all new "Porsche Macan"... its based on Audi Q5, albeit more refined workmanship and performance quality.. Anxiously awaiting to get one for my wife..

"RX" is another dependable option.. just a though.

Best !!
