How much will insurance be?!

One of the big questions for me. With a brand new model, how long before insurance companies are able to quote?

I'm quite worried about how much my RRE will cost me...

RE: How much will insurance be?!

I'm hoping that it will be around the same price as the equivalent model Freelander (i.e. a £35k XS SD4 for me). I ran some online quotes and had cheaper quotes for the Freelander than I currently pay for my current 2007 MINI Cooper S. From memory the freelander quotes were around £400. I currently pay about £600 for the MINI.

RE: How much will insurance be?!

Land Rover Insurance will cover you for a lot of things that the "direct-line/Churchill/Admiral" discount places will don't include like offroad use and recovery, trailers, roofracks, etc etc. for a very reasonable rate - like I pay £465 for a 2010 FFRR with offroad use use, repaired by LR dealer with LR parts, unlimited Continental use, etc etc - I am 54 and have a squeaky clean licence, no accidents, max NCB, 1 windscreen claim 2 years ago and live in a rural postcode but it's first two letters make it part of a not so nice town, 2 named drivers - 1 is 84 years old. no need for a trakker (and no discount if you fit one) Full Comp and £200 excess. I'm hoping the Evoque might be closer to the £195pa I pay them for my offroad prepared Defender with no engine mods. Both cars stored on the drive

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: How much will insurance be?!

I tried online the other day, but none of the comparison sites had the Evoque, so I used the "top of the range" Freelander. It came out about 380 for me. I'm much the same as Tim - age, licence, rural, named driver etc.
I'm expecting to pay less than 400 - fully comp. I might give Land Rover Insurance a go as Tim suggests and see how they compare.Confused:

RE: How much will insurance be?!

Some comparison sites got evoque as option now. But very pricey as very low number of insurers have actually got it on there books. Few months and we'll get better quotes

RE: How much will insurance be?!

Just be aware Ant that there are 2 Land Rover Insurance companies now............... one is with Royal and Sun Alliance and was the original one set up under Ford's ownership of LR and that is who I am still with. When I changed the car last year I contacted the "new" LRI which is a front for Stratstones I believe. Premium was about 3 times more than I was paying under RSA and less cover. I you had your RRS insured with the old Land Rover Insurance it might be worth phoning them but they cannot accept any new customers to the brand as new business has to go to the "new" LRI which has nothing to do with RSA.
