Heated Mirrors

I de-frosted the Evoque for the first time this morning, screen was clear in a few seconds as was the rear and wing mirrors.Very Happy

When I had driven for 5 miles, the wing mirrors had misted up, I could only clear them by turning on the heated rear screen. The manual says they should operate according to the ambient temperature (it was -1 deg C). Has any one else noticed this? Is the manual incorrect, are they only manually operated?

My Vogue's mirrors operated automatically and never misted up. The Freeloaders mirrors are always clear too.

RE: Heated Mirrors

Thanks, yours are clearly working as they should, I guess I will have log this as another fault with Guava along with erratic idle......

Thanks so much, it is quite possible the manual is incorrect and they only do operate in conjunction with the heated rear window, a right pain if that is the case, bet when you really need to see behind you, they will be misted up one day..........

Thanks for having a go and matching my findings.Thumbs Up

RE: Heated Mirrors

Ha, I've got the same problem. I will try to turn on the rear window demister. The german manual says that it operates automatically, too.

RE: Heated Mirrors

The following is from the handbook and I'm not 100 sure it is written in English -
"HEATED MIRRORS - The rear view door mirror heaters operate automatically according to the external
temperature and windscreen wiper operation."

Anyone?
Just got this from dealer

"There is no way to activate the mirrors seperatley to the rear window, it needs to have the heated screen(s) on to activate the wing mirrors."

I have asked him to clarify the handbook statement with LR

RE: Heated Mirrors

that is realy crazy..Rolling Eyes I have never been in the situation that I needed heated mirrors AND a heated screen.. Heated screen is used in case of wetness inside (!) the car (parking in a garage, so there is no ice). The mirrors of my last car (BMW) were heated all the time, always ready for making fried egg Laughing

Thanks for progressing this one, I asked Guava too in an email, but am confident they have not raised it with LR as I have had no reply.

it would be good to run this issue to ground to understand exactly what the situation is.
