Handing over to my Missus :-(

After 5 years of owning my Beautiful Red Evoque, I am now handing over the log book and keys to my Wife. 34k on the clock and still in Mint condition. Not one scuff on the wheels and only one small stone chip on the Bodywork.
The car has been brilliant for me. Only been in for two blown headlight bulbs. I hand over with a heavy heart as we just got rid of her Jag estate which had more scuffs on the wheels than a Whore has on her knees. So you can see i'm sort of crapping myself.

On the brighter side, I take delivery of my Volvo XC60 R-Design Lux Nav D5 AWD Polestar on the 22nd. Not as stunning as the Evoque but still a decent car by any means.

It's been a pleasure speaking to some of you on here over the past 5 years. I wish everyone good luck with their Evoque's. I will visit the Forum from time to time to see what's going on but I am a Volvo man and this will be my 7th Volvo in all.

Take care guys and look after your pride and joy. Smile

Hope that everything turns out well with the XC60, you know you can come and tell us all how good it is anytime, membership here never lapses unless you forget your password!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Yes let us know how the new XC60 compare's, we've had a Volvo in stable for 10+ years too (C30 + V40CC), good solid cars!

Good luck!

RE: Handing over to my Missus :-(

So for the past 3 weeks my Wife has been driving the Evoque and so far the wheels are scratch free. Not a mark on them since buying the car 5 years ago. Long may they stay that way.

I've now been driving the XC60 R-Design Lux Nav D5 AWD Polestar and boy, is there some power under the bonnet. Pushing some 245bhp, it's near to what I had in my last Volvo (850R) before buying the Evoque. (Retuned to give additional 15bhp over standard Polestar)

So, the Plus and Neg points that sprung to mind within a few days of having the Volvo.

Evoque vs Volvo (Beauty and the Beast)

Interior Seating of Volvo is in a different class. Meridian Sound System Beats (see what I did there Wink ) the Harmon/Kardon system on Volvo hands down. The frequency range and sound quality whether the mp3 music file is 128kbps or 320kbps is clearer on the Meridian.

20" Wheels on Both cars are Outstanding though the Volvo is easier to clean.

Panoramic Roof on Evoque is larger and more stylish though the Volvo sunroof opens.

Touch Screen display on Evoque is lager but less responsive than the non touch on Volvo.

2.2d manual engine 190 Bhp is much noisier than the Auto 2.4 D5 and as a manual less responsive than the Automatic on the Volvo. Wind noise is higher on Evoque. Handling on both cars are comparable and a Joy to drive.

Fuel Tank Evoque 55ltrs giving around 475 miles to the tank, Fuel Tank Volvo 70'ish ltr which gave me 585 miles to my first tank of fuel.

Volvo R-Design is a Beautifully designed motor but the Evoque is still without doubt the most Stylish SUV on the Road.

The car I enjoy the most.....Evoque. Just something about it.

Couple of pics of the XC60 to follow once I can find out how to post pics here from mediafire or onedrive.

Great car Ivor, like the wheels, They don't quite have the Styling but I know from our Lux V40CC the comfort level is exceptional and the engines are fabulous.

Also the Nav is free to update, just download maps from the website!

Thanks Phil. The Wheels are nice. Probably the best that Volvo make to date but my one of my last Volvo's had some cool wheels though a little smaller than what's on the XC60 (See Pic)

I do like the styling of the XC60 but the Beauty of the Evoque knocks it out of the Style Park. Very Happy
