I changed from the RRS to the RRE because I needed the increase in MPG and the cheaper tax. The MPG has never materialised and for the extra 7 miles to the gallon I get, I think I lost too much from the RRS. Much as I like the RRE the main niggles was the MPG or lack of it, and the atrocious SatNav.

The loss of comfort, the loss of a boat that holds anything meaningful, the loss of a good SatNav and the loss of towing capacity, does not, for me, justify 7 extra miles. I am sad though. I think the RRE is a stunning looking car and there is much I like about it. I love the DRLs and will miss that on the RRS. I will miss the BSM system also.

I have found this forum really friendly, useful and helpful and had a great meet at Halewood.

I hope that you all continue to enjoy your cars and look forward to the changes LR will make to the car on due time which may well tempt me back.

Last weeks Autocar had a sneak pic of the new RRS which apparently will be styled along the lines of the Evoque. Not sure when it will be available but it might be worth the wait

Pure Coupe SD4 Manual; Fuji White; 19" style 5 wheels; Addaptive Xenons; Auto Lights, Wipers and Rear Mirror; Folding mirrors with cool puddle lights. Magnoflow Exhaust finishers

the later satnave as in the MY10 onwards is far better and miles ahead of the RRE. shame....
I want to know what the best routes are, not what produces the least CO2!1 I also want to know why it is sending me on a goose chase. In the RRS you can interogate the systems and see why it is, if there is traffic problem on the proper route...you can't do this in the RRE. very poor.

Oh dear, I'd heard people were obviously unhappy with the RRE Satnav, but just assumed it was the same as the MY10 RRS one which was 'adequate', I didn't realise they'd actually taken a step backwards!

RE: Gone back to the RRS

I think in the misguided opinion of LR's interior designers they thought we were all environmentalists - the last thing I want to know about a journey is how "green" it is, what i do want to know is :
which way is the route going to go
how long will it take me
how many miles the journey is - sometimes a longer route is faster as it is all motorway than the shorter cross country route with lots of low gear and gear changing along the way and variable speed limits

What I don't want to know is how much CO2 the car "might" emit as, short of becoming a ZEV, all fossil fuel powered vehicles are going to emit atmosphere destroying CO2

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
