RE: Glass: Privacy v Solar Attenuating
I wish I knew as well. I find it aggravating that there is such poor information on the web site/builder tool regarding some of the options available.
I think if there was more detailed information then people would probably be more confident in the choices or decisions they are planning to make. This car will be my first RR so I'm a new to their vehicles/products and thinking of parting with £42k, so this is a big step for me based on previous vehicles owned (usually cheaper).
I imagine the Evoque will attract a large new customer base, and a different demographics than what they had previously. But my impression is the web site seems to be aimed at an already established customer base and not those new to RR so perhaps the solar attenuating glass exists on one of their vehicles already, I will have to google the technology to find out more.
Arrived 22nd December - SD4 Dynamic Auto, Fuji White, Panoramic/Contrast Roof, Dynamic Plus & Lux Pack

No, AFAIK no other RR's or LR's have solar attunating glass on the options list. If you look at the Autocar test pdf that car has the solar attenuating front screen as it has what looks like an oily finish on it like lots of Renaults have
A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

If it is the same as the glass they offer in the BMW then it is not great. To me and many other the windows look to have a mist on them. If you wear polarizing sunglasses it is woeful.
Cheers

Yes these type of sunglasses show up spots in the glass.

That is true on most windscreens but with BMW Climate Comfort Windscreens it is 10 x worse. As you mentioned they look purple and the polarizing glasses react to that.
Cheers

i would be most grateful if anyone going to Evoque Live this weekend could try and find out more about the Solar Attenuating Glass as im still unsure if it would be a worth while order over privacy and what panels it will be included in
