Fog Lights / High Beams?

On my Evoque the light switch won't allow me to turn on the fog lamps when the high beams are on. Is this lighting limitation a feature on the Evoque or do I have a faulty light switch? If it is a feature is there a work around to have the fog and high beams working together. As the fogs do a great job of brightly illuminating the road directly in front of you the combination with the high beams would be very good on poorly surfaced dark country roads at night.

RE: Fog Lights / High Beams?

It could be something to do with USA construction rules as in my UK spec car I can, if I use the manual on facility, have high beam with front fogs so long as I put the headlights on using dipped beam first then switching on the front fogs. However in the UK, as far as I am aware, it is illegal to drive with front or rear fog lights on when it isn't foggy.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

My 2012 RRE only allows the front fog lights in low beam...not sure if the rear works in high beam or not. I have had other vehicles that did the same for the front fog lights w/low beam only.

RE: Fog Lights / High Beams?

It appears that Land Rover has taken the 'big brother knows what's best' attitude and believes there are no driving conditions that would require both fogs and high beam, assuming that given the possibility, we would unwisely drive through a fog bank turning on our fog lamps and high beams together, endangering ourselves and others.
