Facelift rear light led failed? Water Ingress?

Same thing happened with mine. Dried them out later found out the water had come through a round label/sticker covering an access hole on the rear of the lights. Got so fed up with things going wrong with my evoque it ruined my whole evoque experience. Px for a mercedes Glc coupe , i couldn't be happier

We're yours Oem fitted?

Ordered new from dealer and fitted myself. Dealer investigated and fitted new unit and kindly left the half filled with water old unit in the boot

Pleased they sorted it for you. Could imagine a dealer saying if they didn't fit it, it was somethgbyiud done and void warrenty.

Anyhoo, Managed to dry mine out on a hot day in the sun, and left in a glass table to take advantage of the heat. As someone's mentioned thres a yellow sticker on the back and this covers a hole into the red part. Mine had a gap at the top so guess this may be where the water was getting in. Once dried out I've put some silicone sealant around gaps and re fitted. So far so good, but time will tell as no rain so far !

From experience with previous Land Rovers with these large "sealed" light units blocking the hole where the sticker was could lead to condensation on the inside of the coloured section when we get cold weather. It used to be a problem with Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery 3 until LR got fed up with replacing misting up lighting units (both tail and head light units) and put the small vent holes into the units. It does appear that there is a sealant or glue issue (small gap) with one side on Evoque that allows water into the unit rather than it being condensation. I know it is a pain but claiming under you car's warranty is the only way to get LR to check the makers are not skimping on glue or sealant. They soon notice a lot of returned lamp units appearing back at the factory and then they do something as it is costing them.

Interesting. Will re look at the sticker. Do you know where the sealant issue is? My lights are retro fitted so no claim possible.
