Still it's irrelevant as the 5dr owners got to their destination while the coupe owners were waiting for their passenger to get in the back!

The highest point of the 5door is 30mm higher than the highest point of the Coupé according to my brochure. So the projected frontal area is bigger.

But who cares....

Never mind the drag factor.
MPG & 0 to 60 etc... It all depends on the weight of the driver,what's in the boot, full tank of fuel etc. If the VB special is tested with Vicky behind the wheel, LR could knock a second of the SI4

Wonder how much the huge wing mirrors contribute to the drag coeffient? I actually liked the LRX concept mirrors....

Must say it's GREAT in crosswinds. I had a chance to test this in some harsh coastal weather we've just had, and the Evoque just plowed through without any need to adjust the steering.
It simply did'nt feel it at all.

The bad news is that the drag coefficient is not as good as 'Pac-Car' (the world's most fuel efficient car) which has a drag coefficient of 0.075 and an equivalent fuel consumption of 15,200 mpg!

The good news is that it's not that much worse than a bullet (which has a drag coefficient of 0.295.

It may not look extremely streamlined,buy my 92' Mercedes-Benz had a 0.30 cd, which even by todays standards is still excellent. Even with the windows down, their is no wind buffeting at all. Incredibly well engineered car in it's day.
Other notable features were... The Single pivoting windscreen wiper which covered a massive 86% of the screen, which is more then any other car has ever achieved.
Along with the 300sl ,it was the first 5-speed Automatic car in the world.
