Dealers Deposits!

I want to place an order on the Evoque so i phoned my 3 local LR dealers for info, and was surprised to hear how deposits differ.

LR Stratford-upon-avon £2000, plus, 10% when order placed at factory.

LR Oxford £1000 (no mention of 10%)

LR Northampton £500 (no mention of 10%)

Lr southampton - I have order on for 500 depo

LR Pulborough
£1000 to reserve place + another £1000 paid with provisional order Total £2000

i've got the 335i M Sport Tourer 2007 (sorry to see it go ,but i've had to many probs with it.) Hope this RR is better than the crap freelander i had in 98!!

Paid £1000 first and then another £1000 when order was confirmed. I was also told that when I confirmed the order, this would be non-refundable!

My 335i has been brilliant but sooooo impracticable. Plus I had nasty skin cancer so the doc's told me to get rid of the convertible. Hey Ho

Same thing happens Down Under. OZ$3000 at one dealer, OZ$500 at another.

When I first went to my dealer I actually took £500 with me which I thought was more than enough to show that I was a serious buyer. They would only accept a £1000 deposit though, which I paid, but at least they didn't ask for anything more once my order was confirmed.
I would have expected all the dealers to be the same, but obviously not. They must be making a nice bit of interest from all those deposits though!

You will all get deposits back BEFORE the order is confirmed for build etc.

That's odd. Whenever I have placed a deposit in the past it has just been taken off the total price come payment time.
