Re: Contrast Roof or Wrap?

I have a dynamic with Fuji White and was thinking of getting the roof wrapped. It can done for $A450 which is half the price of getting this option from LR. However, they use the 3M wrap product so the only colour they have in a black finish is gloss black metallic. It wont be the same as the factory colours with santorini metallic black usually used for painting the contrast roof. The 3M colour looks similar to the gloss black trims of the dynamic parts on the car. Thoughts anyone?

RE: Contrast Roof or Wrap?

If we hadn't have gone for a Black car, then a contrast roof would have been a definite choice. A wrap would be cheaper though.

RE: Contrast Roof or Wrap?

I think the wrap being gloss black matching the window trims would be ideal, best if it matched and if Fuji then the rest of the car is not metallic.

But if you're sure you want it contrast, unless youre happy to faff around getting it wrapped to save a couple of hundred just get it how you want it. Surely if you have the Pano roof there will be awkward edges or joins in a wrap? and what about if you want to fit roof rails later? just a thought.

I think the Santorini black color used for the contrast roof on a Fuji is a metallic colour so would be similar to the 3M gloss metallic black color?

Contrast Roof or Wrap?

So I got some quotes in Australia for painting vs wrapping

1. Painting the roof in gloss black ~ $1000

2. Vinyl wrapping the roof ~ $440

I'm just concerned with the wrap if it's durable and if I attach some roof racks on the vinyl it might chip it?

RE: Contrast Roof or Wrap?

Contrast, only because I like things to come stock from the factory. Wrap is great option as its reversible.
