Colour vs resale

Hi. Every car is more popular is some colours rather than others. The Evoque can be colour sensitive. Some colours are a brave choice which could adversely affect resale value. What is the forum view on Zanzibar?

RE: Colour vs resale

It will depend on trends when you resell... best is to buy something you think looks good and probably someone else will too!

White was incredibly unpopular for a while and then it's in vogue to stupid proportions again, which probably means it's on it's way out. Grey/Black/Silver are fairly safe, Blues and Reds a bit more adventurous but can't see them going too far out of fashion, Zanzibar could become unpopular down the line, but ultimately if the car looks good in it, it'll sell. And any dealer will tell you the colour you have is the one no one wants... Laughing

RE: Colour vs resale

Duracell Tim must be out shopping, as he would have added to this thread by now Very Happy

For me it all depends whether you playing the short or long game. I tend to only change my cars after 4 years, so I play it safe with me colour choice. But for these part exchanging after 12/24 months, there colour should still be in trend.
It's not just colour which will affects part ex prices, having the correct spec plays a big part as well.

RE: Colour vs resale

I thought my ears were burning!

Duracell Tim.............. maybe I should change my forum name!

I would say buy one in a bright colour - Fuji White, Firenze Red, Loire Blue , Zanzibar, Silver or Orkney Grey - they are the more popular colours and IMHO Evoque looks best in brighter colours, personally I would avoid Santorini Black and Aintree Green.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: Colour vs resale

We have just ordered Santorini to replace Indus. Orkney Grey was to similar to what we had, Mauritius Blue looked dull but good on an FL2 we saw, Firenze Red looks good on a bright sunny day - which we don't get many of.

On the popularity of Santorini, we walked round the dealers compound of new arrivals looking at different colours and out of the 10 Evoque waiting to go to new owners, 4 were Santorini, so in our area it is popular.

Our previous two Freelanders were black so its a colour we are comfortable with. We hate white cars.

PS. We have never had any problems come change time with black or silver cars.

Evoque Dynamic SD4 Lux Auto Total Rubbish, worst car I have owned - GONE AT LAST!
