Boot space

Slightly OT but not at the same time. Measured a 5dr boot today to compare to an X3. The x3 is 10cm longer.

At 40cm above the floor it is 60cm from the rear seats to the door on the RRE. My esky is 80cm long so wouldnt fit in either long ways (reason for measuring it - what can I fit camping without folding the rear seats). No problems sideways but space is limited, should've got a smaller esky Wink

RE: Boot space

X3 and Evoque are NOT same target.First is intended for family, second for couples (with 1 kid, dog or golf set)
Bmw is much longer than RRE, though...

To be fair, the extra 30cm in length of the X3 is mainly in the front bonnet. There is some extra length in side but not noticeable really. 10cm length isn't that much to give away in the boot if you are talking about fitting in eskys or bugaboo strollers and width is quite similar. The X1 is smaller again, and eons apart in terms of quality (more Tiguan competitor).

RE: Boot space

Never ever thought of the X1 as the direct comparison. Always the X3. And when you factor in the off road capability ( something I didn't think I'd want, but now can't wait for) it turnsinto one horse race!

RE: Boot space

Is it possibly to fold the rear seats halfway?

It looks like the rear seats are leaning back a fair bit.. If they were able to stand vertical I think it would give a lot more room in the boot for the dog.

I'm hoping to fit my 45kg rotti in the boot.

Arrived: SD4 Dynamic, Auto, Black in and out, Style 6 rims, Pano roof, Reverse camera, Privacy glass

RE: Boot space

No Andrew, there are only two positions for the rear seats - locked in place with slight posterior recline, or laying down (but not completely flat). I think your rottie needs to visit a dealership with you to run a test, although I'm not sure every salesperson will rush forward to assist Wink
