Best alloy wheel locks ?

I have the 20" wheels going on my evoque shortly and I don't want them to go missing.

Are the oe ones what everyone is using or are there some better options out there ?

Thanks in advance

RE: Best alloy wheel locks ?

Excellent question. I am also looking to improve the ones supplied by LR. I have had some McGard on a previous car that were excellent. Not sure what size I need for Evoque though....

the stud sizes and threads are in the owner's manual

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

There is nothing wrong with the OE "McGard" locking wheel nuts, I'm unsure why there is an assumption they are inadequate.
(Mcgard, not LR) Part numbers 24214/24019
Same as the Freelander2 (and Chrysler 300c!)

24214:
Cone Seat (to match standard length)
Thread size: M14 x 1.5
Hex Size: 13/16"
Overall Length: 1.565"

24019:
Cone Seat-Open End (low profile - for use if you have hubcaps!!?!)
Thread size: M14 x 1.5
Hex Size: 22mm
Overall Length: .893"

Ordered: Fuji Dynamic Lux Coupe / style 7 wheels / Privacy glass / adaptive xenons / something else which I've forgotton.
Should be end of April (was March, then April, then end of May/June).
Collected, Friday 13th Shocked April 2012

RE: Best alloy wheel locks ?

I thought the LR ones were not 'unique'. The proper McGard ones are unique to that set and there are no other keys in circulation. Do LR not just use a series of available keys?

Unless LR actually use McGard of course....
