Auto Dial Shifter

Here's a good tech question i'm hoping someone can crack....Is their any way you can set up the Automatic Dial shifter, so that it remains in the UP position all the time?
I would like the option of NOT having the theater of the up and down all the time, plus i think the center consule looks better when that beautiful Dial is protruding and on display. I mean, it's not like it's something big and bulky like the traditional shifting gear knobs, but a very elegant,and quality looking dial.
