RE: Alarm behaviour

Out of curiosity, does it go off regardless of how you have driven that day, as in has the battery been worked hard and not had a chance to recover?

Arrived Jan 2013 from Hadley Green Arrow Prestige SD4 Manual, Fuji White, Pan Roof, Cirrus/Lunar, Aluminium, Ivory Headliner, A/D, Privacy, Lux Pack, Xenons etc

RE: Alarm behaviour

IF, I was to try to find a link to the amount of driving, then I might be inclined to argue it's after a period of inactivity.
So I hadn't used the car after it came back from the dealers on Friday.
And last week when it went off, I was ill all the previous weekend, so again hadn't used it.

Ordered: Fuji Dynamic Lux Coupe / style 7 wheels / Privacy glass / adaptive xenons / something else which I've forgotton.
Should be end of April (was March, then April, then end of May/June).

RE: Alarm behaviour

It was only a thought and difficult to speculate without seeing the stats for a broad range of this fault.

The one and only (fingers crossed) time my alarm went off, was on the day I did a stupidly short run. Normally, my driving is at least 30 minutes and involves fast roads as well as city stop/start driving.

RE: Alarm behaviour

well, it is interesting, as I have had the flat battery issue too, and I'm not a fan of coincidences.
They reset the battery monitor, charged the battery and told me it was fixed, I had a period of 3 or 4 months with no issues and then this started, so I think it must be linked.
Maybe the alarm battery has it's own battery charge monitor which is always overlooked?

just to add though, in 'regular' use, it's a 80 mile round commute into London everyday.

RE: Alarm behaviour

Assuming that you get a good run, an 80 mile trip should be more than enough to keep your battery healthy.

Sorry if you have already stated this, but does the alarm go off at the same time?

RE: Alarm behaviour

ish...
On the occasions I have heard it, we've had 3 or 4 times at 4.30am, one at about 8.30am, one at 9am (this morning). And my neighbour reported a 1pm alarm call to me too Neutral

RE: Alarm behaviour

Movement normally, was it windy/raining? Volumetric sensors can be Infra-red or microwave and detect changes in the transmitted field.
