Aftermarket In Car Entertainment for Rear Headrests

I go to pick up my Prestige tonight!! Cant remember if the leather is cream or grey however I've totally overlooked the fact that kids will no longer have TV's to view since it doesn't come with rear ICE

Has anyone gone down the route of aftermarket portable dvd players mounted to the headrests? personally i would prefer these sorts of units over dealer spec ones since they come with tons more functionality

Just buy iPads & get the headrest mounts for them. Quite a few variants available now.

There are also specialists that make modified headrestraints containing screens, if you go to our sister forum Freel2.com there are several owners there who have had an aftermarket system fitted that are way less expensive than the factory optional system.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Ipads for watching videos are too restrictive and difficult to transfer files - plus I cant be arsed charging them and wouldn't want to wire them into the car for constant power supply since they would kill the battery if the car is stood for a whole weekend which it probably will be

Also a magnet for getting car window smashed and grabbed I cant be arsed removing them on a night either

This will be of no help at all, just an observation. Many years ago, reading a book was a popular pastime and surprisingly educational. I suppose a modern compromise would be strapping a couple of Kindle's to the headrests.

Where did you pull the live feed from? I assume you set it to live on ignition? otherwise battery would be drained

I'm not a fan of having wires showing via cigarette lighters would rather strip the centre armrest console and hardwire them in for the extra hour of effort it takes
