Doug, the response when I mentioned the rear light cluster while booking in the car was "we'll order a replacement" so it may be a known issue.

Ultimately I paid a lot of money for this car so don't expect it to have these types of issues so soon into ownership.

I'll keep this post updated once it goes in week after next.

Yeah and that's my argument as well - we paid a lot of money for the car, and they shouldn't happen. I realise that the its the first generation, but these aren't just faults that you have... it is actual build quality that isn't right.

I completely agree - I haven't had any "faults" as such these are all build/quality control issues that shouldn't have left the factory.

Welcome graymatter,

It was due to paint issues I think, but can't help as to where it was talked about.

RE: After 6 months of ownership its time to get the niggles sorted out!

So after rescheduling a couple of times because of other commitments the car went in to Lookers Park Royal first thing this morning.

Met a few of the team including James, Matthew, Wayne and Rob who is looking after my car.

Must say very good first impressions and Rob spent a good amount of time going over the various issues with me and handed me the keys to a very nice Jag XF as a loaner.

Hope to hear back later today on the issues and will update then.

Interestingly my bonnet seems to have realigned itself which is a bit worrying as it no longer looks askew as it did when I initially booked it in and took those photos...

Update: Had a call from Rob at LPR and he confirmed they have rectified the bonnet alignment - was a stopper adjustment and the passenger door clicking when opening/closing was the checkstrap which they have tightened.

They didn't find anything recorded by the on board computer about the battery low warning so that's one to keep an eye on.

So 3 down and 5 to go.

For the other 5 issues they have documented/photographed them and are sending to LR to review.

So I'm going back to pick up the car tonight or in the morning depending on when I can get out of work and they're going to get back to me once they've heard back from LR.

WB, did you buy the car from LPR?

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
