Fortunately for me that has never been a problem given I am a valeter, I have a 21 year old Flame Red MG Montego which looks like it has just come from the showroom.
Token - just out of interest how do you get your cars washed if they fade that badly?
Looks as though the general concensus of oppinion is Firenze & Red/Black which is kind of where my heart is anyway. That is the good thing with forums as you can get a wider range of oppinions. I really do like my cars just that little bit different to stand out. I added lots of accessories to the Freelander to grab attention to it & the signwriting on the car with the hope people phone the number on there & book me!!
I have valeted older Mercs with the 2 tone leather infact a customer of mine recently bought a CLK55 AMG cheeply as it had been neglected both inside & out & the leather on that was very tired but that again is also no issue for me. Take alcantara for example if that is neglected it looks terrible but I had the Black leather/Red Alcantara factory option on my MG ZR-Express van back in 2005 & when using it for work I simply have a Red towel over the seat to protect, when I wish to use it to go out of for a show it looks as new.
As to Red not being a real Range Rover colour, I guess that could be said & that would also apply to many so called Premium Brands but it is nice to see these cars in colours other than the main 3.
I also think the Range Rover Evoque has broken this tradition allready partly given by the amount of people on here that have ordered Firenze Red but then look at a lot of the Range Rover Evoque publicity - On their website for example there are 6 videos, 1 in LA of the 5 Door launch = Firenze Red Prestige with that lovely white leather & then The Firenze Red Dynamic in the city. You go on You Tube & there are several other LR videos with Firenze Red as the main car.
I know some manufacturers have what they call a Flagship colour maybe Firenze is that for the Evoque?
I remember Nightfire Metallic Red on Rover cars was their flagship colour & featured on many brochures, TV adds etc.
Nightfire Red was also Alverston Red on Freelander 1 (exactly the same colour).
