RE: 6-spd lag

I'm assuming this is only for the diesel engines? I too have noticed the Si4 has what feels like some very poor throttle mapping or transmission programming. It goes nowhere for a while and then all of a sudden you have to let off the gas as you launch forward and it shifts down. I have other turbo cars, so I'm used to turbo lag, and this does not feel like that at all.

RE: 6-spd lag

Have Q585 installed for a couple of weeks now. The difference is pretty startling, almost as if there's a new cog in the gearbox.

I've also noticed a difference in the fuel economy - on my last full tank, I managed 420 miles where before I've struggled to get over 400 out of a tank.

He said it might be that this will eventually come through, as there is sometimes delays between when the UK has them and when it comes to Australia.
He also said there appears to be some downloads currently coming through to them, and if the Q585 is one of them they would let me know.

I can only hope.

O.K. so i took my car back for this Q585 update, and all they said they could come up with that may or may not have anything to do with the Q585 (as i asked the question and they don't know), was the following 2 updates that had just come through....
1. Powertrain Control Module / latest s/w information (File - BJ32-12K532-VTF) (currently BJ32-12K532-VTD)
2. Transmission Control Module / latest s/w information (File - BJ32-14C337-BG) (currently BJ32-14C337-BF)

They installed the above updates but said they can't do the Q585 because its not available to them. I have not noticed any real difference after these particular updates.

Anyone know anything about the above updates? Frustrated and confused about trying to get Q585 from my dealer as they just don't offer any real explanation.

RE: 6-spd lag

Some updates are VIN specific (ie not applicable to all cars) which may be the problem that you dealer is having.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: 6-spd lag

My subscription to Topix shows Q585 is for model years 2012-2013 and VIN range 00158 - 856492. Mine fits the criteria being a 2012 and vin 639056, thus it should be applicable to my car.

Now i'm thinking to cancel out country specific for what ever reason, i need an Australian owner that has had this done to their Evoque, and proof of it showing in the service invoice, to give me some sort of chance from here, as i can't think of anything else.

Do you have an Independent Specialist or another franchised dealership nearby who could give a 2nd opinion?

Unfortunately, the Landrover dealer here has the monopoly on Perth, with its 2 dealers.
There is an independent specialist but on my enquiry, they said they don't have access to dealer updates. May have to ask at another independent i guess, but they will probably be the same.

After the holidays you might try our contact at Land Rover Customer Service, they might be able to help kick your dealership's backside............

RE: 6-spd lag

Technical Questions....
1. Is the Powertrain Control Module and the Transmission Control Module, two separate modules in the Evoque?
2. Would the Q585 (Engine Management System software update) be applied to the Powertrain Control Module or the ECU?
