RE: 2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 review
The Freelander is a good car, I've had two and thinking about going back to Freelander. I've speced one up TD4 XS in Mauritius blue with a few extras £31,725. A bog standard pure for only £730 less doesn't even come close spec wise.
The Evoque beats it on looks and handling but that's it.

I'm with you J77, at a point of no return for another 2 years with the Evoque, or cutting my losses now for an additional Freelander (2013 model), or current RRS or Disco 4. Can't see past buying a LR.
Arrived 16 December 2011: Prestige SD4 auto 5dr in OG with Adaptive Dynamics, Adaptive Xenons, Surround Cameras, Auto Dimming Rearview, Grey Oak Wood, Spare Wheel and Powered Tailgate.

The Evoque is due it's service in a fortnight and I will be taken a loan car which is guaranteed to be a Freelander, hopefully a 13MY, so I will give myself an extended test drive.
I like the more traditional feel of the Fl2, higher seating position etc but I like the looks of the Evoque and how it drives. I just feel there is something missing from the Evoque and I don't know what it is.

Probably the Command driving position that the FL2 has.

Or the lofty greenhouse effect of the view out - like all the other Land Rover production except Evoque there is a lot of glass and it's easy to see out of them.
A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
