Chris, that sounds steep. Are you planning to keep the car for 3 years?

I'm not sure how much the second and 3rd services cost but I just got my first service done in London at LPR for under £300 by supplying my own parts sourced from Yeovil land rover. Bit of extra work for me but saved about £100!

what is the oil LR put in cant you buy the separately What is the oil LR put in cant you buy the separately, I know with other manufactures you can do that.

I was under the impression the Evoque needs servicing every 2 years, so why would you take out a 3 year service plan?

The oil is Castrol C1 - yes you can buy it separately and basically the oil is where the dealers are ripping us off. The parts prices are set by LR and the labour rates are fairly standard. I was able to source 6L of Castrol C1 oil from Yeovil LandRover for £62 - many dealers are charging double or more for the same oil!!

Evoque servicing is every year or every 15k miles whichever comes sooner.

Are they shipping it in litre bottles or do they ship in a larger container, 4/5 litre type size?

Chipperfield Landrover (Herts) £389.17 inc vat as an estimate.

They're quite keen to get my money as they've already sent a reminder, well over three months before its
first anniversary. Seems the system had it has being delivered just before Xmas 2011......I wish!

Breakdown(all plus vat):

Labour - £172.50
parts - £42.66
Fluids and sundries - £109.14 ( includes a fee for oil disposal- £6.50, lubricants other - £9.74, and something called Shop Supplies (!) - £7.50). C1 is £79.36 and 5.9ltrs.

Lots of checking and inspecting is listed but other than the oil, air & pollen filters etc, not a lot of doing! Resetting the service indicator and stamping the service book are on the listLaughing

Courtesy car/collect & return are available services but I was a a bit shocked at the size of the excess if you run their insurance........an eye watering £1kShocked

RE: 1st Service price differences, yikes!!!

This "fee for oil disposal" really gets my back up. In this day and age that oil is stored and then SOLD as it is eminently suitable for firing up a lot of industrial boilers. One thing for sure the dealers don't PAY for it to be taken away! A lot of used car lube oil ends up in the fuel we get onboard the ship - the heavy metals and contaminants in it cause all sorts of problems in our engine, even after centrifuging and refining onboard. The UK motor industry wonders why we all think they are a bunch of low lifes and stealers.................... they bring it on themselves when they charge for something they are selling on.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Indeed, I used to use a garage that had an industrial boiler as it's main source of heating so they always just poured the oil out of your car into the oil tank... perfect re-use of a waste product, never charged for disposal.

They only do 1L top up bottles and it's STILL half the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps we should start a campaign to stop the rip off....

The oil comes in 200ml glass bottles, in cased in a box made from the wood found on the "Tudor Rose" which is silk lined from the curtains which used to hang in Henry the 8th bedroom Very Happy
