What were your findings? How do these tuning boxes work?

I appreciate they compete with your more expensive and probably hugely better product but im intrigued by them. Are they genuinely a good product?

Or are they the automotive equivalent of snake oil?

RE: Tuning box?

Humm, a postion id rarther not be in tbh tuning boxes are not my personal cup of tea for various reasons stated in the past. but i do like to test other products available of which i did with several different branded tuning boxes.
What i will say is that within reason they do what they say on the tin, which is change the output signal from the sensor to make the car add via the HP pump more fuel to give a gain in power. Though i would not advise turning them up to much for fear of possibile pump problems over time. Sometimmes less is more!

Regarding their advertised overall % gain im staying on the fence and impartial as i dont want to get into a forum war about Remaps V Tboxes. I agree Tboxes have their own place in the market for various reasons but they are personally not for me.

Tuning box?

Hi

I am at jumper setting 14

This gives better performance IMHO up to 2k rpm. No throttle lag.

No change from 2k upwards compared with 10-11 hope this helps..

Getting close to 650 miles from a tank of diesel! The Evoque chip has come preset at program 10, is this sufficent? Thanks

Had mine at 15 -17 and 20. The best power/ economy was 17 which gave me 45 mpg on motorway and plenty of power. Sd4 manual.

RE: Tuning box?

I was considering getting a tuning box to make my td4 a bit more fun, however after considering the expense i decided to spend a little more (£800) on a 50% share and a years insurance on an immaculate 1994 mazda eunos 1.8.

Will be a bit more fun than the evoque in the sunshine and will probably never loose andy money in depreciation.
