RE: Painted Bull bar and Diffusors

Looks great - That's how they should come from the factory!

Cutter, how did you prep the plastic before painting - was it sanded down or just primed directly?

Also what kind of black did you paint the diffusers?

The Plastic was prepped first with a de-greasing agent and then a scotchbrite cloth used to leave a dull finish for the primer.

Two coats of black primer were used on the diffusers, the reason being that these areas as you know are very prone to chip and scratch marks underneath, so adding two coats of black primer will help to hide any of the factory grey to show through should this happen.

The diffusers were painted 'Satin Black' and also the' tailgate' bar to match the rest of the front and rear valance..

Hi Cutter,

Do you need to dismantle the front bull bar and diffusor before painting it?

No, we just took the two bolts that hold the front diffuser out and painted that part separately.

The Bull bar was painted on the car.

The front diffuser is designed to unbolt from underneath so that you can use the towing eye.
