Cannot be to many engineery types here as nobody has yet asked for under the bonnet photos!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

I am or was, but there's not a lot to see under the bonnet of most modern cars, just swathes of plastic Sad

RE: My Evoque.......................

Any idea what the two pipes marked Max 6Nm on might be in this photo Paulus? They are at the back of the engine compartment on the offside, and are metal pipes lead along the offside wing and down to a block where they become heavy duty rubber hoses, one going to somewhere at the top of the radiator and the other disappears down to the bottom of the engine. I assume (probably incorrectly) that the 6NM marking is a torque wrench setting as there is what looks like a threaded cap under the plastic cover.

RE: My Evoque.......................

Hmmm, if you hadn't said they lead to the engine block and radiator, I would have said they were used to charge/bleed the air con system. That can't be the case though, so may have to wait on a reply until I start pulling one apart Very Happy

Those pipes are normally connected to the engine block. Have they put an engine in your car?? Laughing

If they hadn't I would be expecting a hugely better mpg

Thanks Quattroman - I wasn't going to fiddle with them - I pay garages to do that! Was just interested what they were for.

RE: My Evoque.......................

interesting how dirty the engine compartment already is. Is there under-engine cladding to try to protect it. Once a winter's worth of salt gets in there, it will be a sight. Needs frequent hosing down, IMHO.

Mark

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR
