RE: Mudflaps - pics with and without for anyone undecided

I have printed the fitting instructions from the TOPIX website as a PDF and posted them in the Modifications section here
http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Mud-Flap-...structions

NOTE - these are the instructions for a Dynamic - I'm sure that those for the other two models will not be hugely different and they can be down;oared from the TOPIX website.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

The reason I fit mud flaps is to protect the body from stones & they make a huge difference to how you paint looks after many miles!!
I was under the impression that the Dynamic couldn't have mud flaps but it looks as though (gladly) I am wrong!

yea went on some dirt/mud terrain and can see how they shoot up on to the sides and also the rear wheels kick up alot of dirt also in the back. The mudflaps is a must for the preservation of the paint.

Every RR I have ever owned I have had the flaps fitted and personally think they make the car look "finished off".

If you are from Sweden(my wife is orginally from Goteborg) and driven there for quite some time. You will need it for sure. When driving in snow the mixture of dirt, salt, etc will just mess up the paint job unless you are alright with a paint in a year or so.

Quite tempted, especially with winter weather looming (or here for some I guess!) - not sure I would have the nerve to take on doing it myself though - shame the fixing holes aren't already on the car... Maybe a mudflap fitting party under the expert tutelage of Tim / Spiderman?! Wink

RE: Mudflaps - pics with and without for anyone undecided

My X5 and 1-series don't have any mud flaps. No issues with the paint at all. Well on the front of the car its a different story but no mud flaps help there... Wink

So if the car is not designed in a strange way there should be no issues with that. Would be interesting to know if the Evoque have issues with spraying the car with stones etc? Anyone with experience by now?

I think the mud flaps totally destroys the looks of the evoque. Same thing with the trailer hitch. That one is terrible! Cannot understand why there is not a hidden trailer hitch on this car... After market trailer hitch looks like "put ugly word here"!
