RE: Depreciation...

The dark green one he did admit that was a buying error and they just can't seem to shift it.

Depreciation...

So, given 37k 2012 dynamic today, crystal ball time, in 12 months would be worth......? 30? Less?

Do you think the 9 speed auto / refresh will see first edition Evoques dip in price?

I've never seen a dark green one in the flesh. They are certainly not a popular choice in or around London.

(Just had a look on the LR website and I'm not sure at all about Aintree Green)

Arrived Jan 2013 from Hadley Green Arrow Prestige SD4 Manual, Fuji White, Pan Roof, Cirrus/Lunar, Aluminium, Ivory Headliner, A/D, Privacy, Lux Pack, Xenons etc

Yes, because the current auto is rubbish. I had a new golf as a hire car yesterday, the dsg is very good. Made me realise how bad the evoque box is.

Delivered: Evoque 5 door Prestige SD4 Auto 4WD, Orkney Grey, Fixed Panoramic Roof, Ivory Headliner, Vibe Interior, Spare wheel, 20" Chrome Shadow Style 7

Nothing wrong with our Evoque auto box, as for a golf, most over rated car of the last three decades!

Evoque Dynamic SD4 Lux Auto Total Rubbish, worst car I have owned - GONE AT LAST!

Got to agree, evoque auto box is better than any Audi or Vw with DSG I have owned.

RE: Depreciation...

There isn't much wrong with the Evoque's autobox BUT there are better available and LR fits much better to the bigger cars they produce. The Aisin 6 speed is getting a bit old tech now and LR has been using it in similar guises since the BMW days when the Freelander1 had the 5 speed version shoved under the bonnet in 2001.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: Depreciation...

I suppose the point is it's not *bad* as such, but it could be made better (i.e more efficient).

Building a new gearbox two years ago would have delayed the launch, so they went with what they had at the time, and when the new box was ready they refresh the car.

Makes sense, but I do worry that if a new 9 speed comes out with good MPG that the early cars will be hit be depreciation.
