Any other aspiring petrolheads?

And I mean that in the slightly more literal (but not quite) sense!

Looks like lots of diesels are slipping forward and enjoying earlier-than-expected deliveries. No mentions of Si4 specd orders, so just wondering if I'm the only one waiting!

Was told when I ordered in August that the petrol variant Evoques were typically arriving much quicker than the diesels as the build to order ratios didn't seem to be evenly distributed for the domestic market. May have been dealer nonsense, but seemed to make sense. Had my hopes up that the scheduled January delivery would turn into an early Christmas present.

RE: Any other aspiring petrolheads?

RHD Petrols apparently are all going for export to overseas markets where there is no diesel option and sales in the UK held back

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Hey, I ordered a Si4 early July, estimated build date was the 7th of December, slipped forward to the 2nd of November, so I can confirm that also petrol engines have the chance to arrive earlier.

RE: Any other aspiring petrolheads?

Was with the dealer on Friday to finalise my spec, and have a confirmed build date of 20 Dec - perfect timing for the party season for the guys on the production line! Crossing fingers that the build will creep forward for a pre-Christmas delivery.

For the ideal that no petrol models are being built for the UK market at the moment, seems it's a little more nuanced than that! Not only is mine being built on 20 Dec, there was another Si4 waiting in the forecourt to be picked up on Friday.

5dr Dynamic Si4 in OG, Lux pack, Adaptive Bi-Xenon, Contrast black roof, and other nonsense.
Build: 20 Dec 2012 (after the Christmas party)

Re: Any other aspiring petrolheads?

Im thinking ill get a hungover assembly also with a 11th jan eta..

I would not be too worried if it slipped a few weeks. Although its a west coast US order where we have zero options for the power plant.
