What to do? - FL22EV - 09-02-2016 10:04am

I ordered an Evoque and it may ship to the dealership by this Friday (12th) so it might be ready to collect next week (w/c 15th Feb). I'm keen to take it of course but is it worth being patient & taking delivery 1st March to take advantage of the new 16-plate? Is that fair to the dealership, to have them store it for 2 weeks before I deign to have them register it & take my dosh? If I take delivery in Feb on a 56-plate, is that a financial mistake on my part? Thoughts please!

Depends how long you are going to keep it, as to if it's an actual financial mistake, but I'd be asking them to register it for 1st March, if you don't need the car before.

You're paying so you tell them what you want. I think any dealerships that get cars in stock two weeks before a number plate change will be expecting to keep them until the plate change date anyway UNLESS the sale was subject to the car being registered before then. Oh, and a 56 plate would definitely be a big mistake - you'd want at least a 65 plate. Laughing

Nowt wrong with a 56 plate on a 2016 car............... I had a 57 plate on my 2014 Evoque and on my 2011 Evoque and I have a 57 Plate on my RRS.............. they are "cherished" number plates though!

I'd ask them to register it in March or ask for a discount to take a 65 plate! Can't quite remember how much but I got a reasonable discount on accepting an end of month sale at the end of the 63 plate year.
