Problems for LR with Chinese customers with gearbox problems - XFullFatTim - 20-03-2015 10:57am So it isn't just the UK customers who are getting somewhat annoyed with issues with gearboxes in their Evoques, how long before LR issues an apology to its' frustrated UK customers too? http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/03/20/uk-china-jaguar-land-rover-idUKKBN0MG01X20150320 http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/chinas-quality-watchdog-asks-jlr-recall-evoque-suvs-1492783 RE: Problems for LR with Chinese customers with gearbox problems - Stadt Panzer - 20-03-2015 01:36pm I wonder if LR will extend the warranty period in Europe as well? RE: Problems for LR with Chinese customers with gearbox problems - Sarcastrix - 24-03-2015 09:49am Quote:JLR is recalling 36,451 Evoques from 2014 and 2015 in China to fix their gearboxes, according to Reuters. The automaker reportedly has a software update to remedy issues with poor shift quality, noise and not being to get into Drive in some cases. The company is also extending the transmission's warranty for affected owners there to seven years from the time of purchase or about 149,000 miles, whichever is first. Amazing to think that Chinese consumers have better lemon laws than Europe. RE: Problems for LR with Chinese customers with gearbox problems - XFullFatTim - 24-03-2015 10:07am Amazing that they have more confidence in cars that they export to China than they do for cars in other markets, that they are offering 7 years/ 149000 miles additional warranty too - They would certainly steal a march on the Koreans and Malaysians if they had that much confidence in the cars built for the rest of the world that are built on exactly the same production line. About time they offered the whole of the world the same - we have confidence to buy the products but they don't have the confidence to warranty them longer! That would certainly put them in a league ahead of all the other upmarket European brands who also don't have very much confidence in the products that they produce! RE: Problems for LR with Chinese customers with gearbox problems - PhilSkill - 24-03-2015 03:07pm Agreed Tim, Only having a 3yr Warranty is the main concern of mine buying a LR product now. |
