This is insane, they basically built an Evoque with poor quality.

The first photographs with the Landwind E32 have surfaced the web, confirming once more the crossover looks just about the same as the five-door Range Rover Evoque.

Due the huge demand for Evoque in China Land Rover is going to build Evoques for the Chinese market anyway in China anyway, so this could be the collaboration results

Land Rover China have a tie in with Cherry Automotive not Landwind. The Landwind is a blatant copy due to go on sale towards the end of this year for the equivalent of about $19000

They are only sold locally in China and not exported, the same crowd are well known for their pastiche copies of Rolls Royces, BMWs and Audis as well as things like Rovers and Minis from bygone ereas. iIRC this was the company that brought the Vauxhall Frontera production line from GM and made it unsafer on the roads by removing all safety devices required in the rest of the world but not in China!

Surprised such a shabby outfit is still in business even in China given the rise of their economy & the fact that modern safe cars are sold & made there now!

Andy, the economic boom has passed by many Chinese - it's really only those living in the big cities and along the coast who have got wealthy, the lower middle class and factory workers are not well enough paid to be able afford imported luxury cars that have 200% import taxes on them. Hence there is a market for very cheaply made, unsafe (by our standards) replicas of desireable imported cars. I'm not defendinbg blattant copying/ stealing of intellectual property by Chinese companies but there is a huge internal market for copy cars like these and you do see millions of them when you visit China. You also see some horrendous road accidents.................
I remember one of the well established car makers trying to take the makers of this look-a-like RRE to court over stealing intellectual property and they got no-where in the Chinese courts because the cars were never intended for export so in Chinese eyes there was no issue!
