So my evoque has been into the dealers (Pentland Edinburgh) twice now to fix this rattle from the driver's door. It rattles when you put music on loudish (half volume on standard system) and when driving over a rough service. It seems to get better if I rest my arm on the window ledge bit. I cannot work out where this is coming from and it's driving me nuts as it's fairly loud and pretty near my right ear.
So far they've taken off the door card and refitted it and also done something to the window regulator, they've also done something similar last year, none of which has fixed the problem.
Has anyone else had similar rattles? Pentland have been pretty good about trying to sort it but it's 50 miles each way to get there and rather tiring. If someone else knows what the hell this might be then I could let Taggarts know and they could fix it maybe...
Also can someone else with a 5 door dynamic check their ambient lighting please? I don't have any in the back of my vehicle and despite asking Pentland to look at this, I never got a reply and am not sure if anything was done about it.

In early Coupes there was a similar problem in the rear quarter panel and it was found to be speaker or antenna wiring inside the panel. Wonder if it could be the same in this case but inside the driver's door - there are quite a few wires inside there - powered locks, seat/mirror memory buttons, window lifter wiring and powered heated mirrors plus more electric bits.

Regarding rear ambient lights - I don't think there are any in the back of the 5 door, but will go and check mine when it gets dark enough to see them!
OK have just been out to check now it's dusk - first I didn't have ANY anbient lighting anywhere in the car so checked in the "Extra Functions" Menu on the touch screen and found that the ambient lighting was turned off, so that's your first check to do! I can also confirm that there are no LED's in the back doors so no ambient lighting there at all - bit of a cheapskate penny-pinching omission really.

Hi, I had the same with mine. Drove me nuts for ages and I finally tracked it down to the shiny black plastic trim on the drivers door at the B pillar. Drop the window and pull the window rubber seal back to reveal three or four small fixing screws holding the trim to the door frame from the inside. Every one of them was loose, tighten them up and see if that fixes it - it sorted mine.

Bob could you maybe post a quick photo of where you found these screws? I can't see them at all on mine!
