Repairing the rear of the front seats... - jbob - 06-04-2014 12:29pm My rear passengers (children!!) have scuffed the rear of my front seats badly. I can clean them up, but the actual rubber coating has been worn away, it looks really tatty Does anyone know how hard it is to replace these? Is it a part that can be ordered? Alternatively I was thinking of taking them off (if possible) and having them re trimmed in something more durable (leather perhaps). Does this bother anyone else, or is it just me! Cheers, Neil RE: Repairing the rear of the front seats... - XFullFatTim - 06-04-2014 02:51pm Long shot here - try claiming on your warranty - obviously not up to day to day normal family wear and tear............... Repairing the rear of the front seats... - jbob - 06-04-2014 03:52pm Not nice... RE: Repairing the rear of the front seats... - speary - 07-04-2014 08:27am Why is it that lots of the plastic trim on the Evoque seems to have some sort of coating/paint on it. Don't most manufacturers mould the parts in the colour of plastic they want? These parts don't seem to be up to day to day wear and tear Repairing the rear of the front seats... - jbob - 07-04-2014 08:35pm I've spoken to LR customer care today and emailed them the photos. I think it would do good if I could cite more examples. Has this happened to anyone else? It would be great to hear if so. Thanks RE: Repairing the rear of the front seats... - mark_n - 07-04-2014 10:21pm Not good, though I can assure you leather is not at all suitable to this application. RE: Repairing the rear of the front seats... - mstraka - 08-04-2014 01:41pm Yes the rear of the front seats do scratch easy. On my Evoque coupe there are a number of scratches on the drivers seat back caused by fitting my briefcase with external buckles into the rear foot well behind the seat. I do this carefully but I still can't avoid scratching the seat back. RE: Repairing the rear of the front seats... - fam1x - 08-04-2014 01:45pm wow that quite bad how old are the kids ? I for some rear plastic covers for mine which have worked so far. Repairing the rear of the front seats... - Kimv - 11-04-2014 09:27pm I also have some scratches there. I called my dealer and the back part of the front seat can be ordered separately. If I remember correctly it's about 100€/piece. |
