Bumper Damage-Help Required - mickydd - 19-05-2013 11:51am OK So some idiot reversed in to a wall. I could blame the other half, I'm sure she won't read this. But I admit it, reversed out of a parking bay, reverse camera as usual was slow to display and Bang, Any thoughts on repair, replacement???? Thanks. [attachment=3533] RE: Bumper Damage-Help Required - doug - 19-05-2013 12:56pm Post 1000 ![]() Sorry for your damage, the same thing happened to me (I blamed the wife ![]() But your in luck, this part if the rear bumper can be removed as the tow eye is behind it. Two screws on the underside, give it a pull down & it will come off in your hands. This is a lot easy/cheaper for your local body shop to repair & spray the panel. This means you still have the use of your car when the repair is carried out & no over spray/dust all over the car.Cost should be under £100. RE: Bumper Damage-Help Required - PhilSkill - 19-05-2013 03:47pm If you had to pick a panel to hit, youd pick that one, easy to remove and have done properly! RE: Bumper Damage-Help Required - SINGHY - 19-05-2013 07:53pm Hey Mickydd, PM me and I'll let you have details of an independent body repairer who fixed my rear bumper and panel after the wife grazed it against a wall. The chap I used does a lot of these repairs for local LR dealers, he's based in Bradford but is mobile. RE: Bumper Damage-Help Required - XFullFatTim - 19-05-2013 09:15pm Oh you are so lucky you only got that bit............................ My reversing incident ended up with a £1600 bill! RE: Bumper Damage-Help Required - WB - 19-05-2013 09:38pm That should be £50 to £100 to get resprayed. Also Indus Silver is a very good silver to match (unlike most) as it only has one "shade" RE: Bumper Damage-Help Required - mickydd - 19-05-2013 10:07pm Thanks everyone, I forgot about this being the removable panel for the towing eye. Singhy, have sent you a PM. |
