Wheel upgrade - Mijo - 20-02-2013 02:09am Any precautions when upgrading from my RRE 19" wheels to the style 8 20" wheel (ie TPMS etc)? Many thx in advance. RE: Wheel upgrade - scrannel - 20-02-2013 05:17am With all the snow we get in So. Cal? Be careful... RE: Wheel upgrade - Mijo - 20-02-2013 06:10am Weather is tough here. Today was one of the worst days of the winter and would be best described as torrential drizzle. Wait... What was that?... Tomorrow's forecast is 72 degrees partly cloudy? Long live California. I would have opted for 22s, but to get it to look right I'd have to lower a car that rides so smooth. 20s it is. Talked to the seller and they confirmed no problem with swapping the TPMS. Of course their motivated to sell the wheels so they'll do their best to meet any request if it means a sale. Babyrr.com to the resque. Any words of advice/caution on making the swap? RE: Wheel upgrade - scrannel - 20-02-2013 11:41am I have read on another forum that the TPM is indeed no issue. RE: Wheel upgrade - holeecow - 18-03-2014 11:05pm New to the forum and searching now. Did you get oem tpms or the clone one Mijo? RE: Wheel upgrade - Davevx - 22-03-2014 07:13pm When I changed my 18 to 20s on my XF the dealer recalibrated some software. Maybe the car needs to be told it has 20s?? RE: Wheel upgrade - XFullFatTim - 22-03-2014 10:03pm Check with your dealer, but I believe that no calibration is needed so long as you stick with the right profile for the 20" tyres - IIRC LR designed the car to be able to run any OEM wheel/tyre spec on any version of the car i.e. so long as you stick with the OEM profile of tyre on the 20" it will have the same rolling diameter as your 18" wheel with the correct profile of tyre for that wheel RE: Wheel upgrade - holeecow - 25-03-2014 08:23pm I went from a 20 to a 18 for my snow tires. No calibration is needed. Just needed the tpms and it all sorts itself out. Should be similar for rr Evo? |
