my pure order without nav - forest172 - 07-08-2011 06:30pm

I`ve got a Pure build date 28th Oct. I`ve had the following,

5door auto SD4 Pure with
19" alloys,
fogs,
auto lights wipers
folding power mirrors
pan roof
ciruis interior
orkney grey

I`ll do the pimp tints after taking delivery

Cost me just about £33700, which is what I set my budget at paying for it all cash. Seeing as it`s the family car for the wife and kids.

I`ll never use NAV, so decided against the £1400 option. But do people think it`s depreciation suicide on this model. I know for a fact I`ll never use it!!

I have a friend who works in the trade and he said that a suv or a 4x4 with no sat nav is a massive no no. It's the same as bluetooth.

Don't you mean 'with no sat nav'?

Any "premium" car without satnav is rsidual suicide these days - it's like a few years ago buying a luxury car with solid paint instead of metallic or taking the cloth/ velour seat covers instead of leather.

I know what your saying but I`ve heard the same too, that the rule also applies to non-AUTO too.

I think dealers use it as an excuse to have your pants down either way

Auto is not so much of an issue with smaller SUV's/ SAV's - the Evoque is the only Range Rover (NOT Land Rover) with the option to have a manual shift, all the others are auto only

it really wouldnt suprise me if the nav is fitted to all cars and simply requires an aerial/ software update to get working.

Yes possibly, all freelander1's left the factory with aircon fitted whether or not you had specced it........... it didn't take long for canny guys to find that all you needed to enable it was a £1.50p switch! Not long after AC became standard on all the cars!

Suppose this could be a possibility seeing as the screen is the same on them all. Unlike my Disco4 GS with the little mono screen. I`m just be a tight arse really, but seriously will never have the need for it.

ummm... not sure that's the case. Look at the center console screen in this image. Not sure what you have to do the get this setup but I'd be very careful when speccing a Pure model to avoid getting this layout (the picture is from the Explore the Evoque section on the LR website - Global, not UK)

OK, a little more research - in the UK all cars (Pure, Prestige and Dynamic) have 8" Touch Screen as standard. In a lot of other markets, the touch screen is NOT standard on the Pure (Prestige and Dynamic always have it). Not a big deal the me in SA since we do not get Pure (only Prestige and Dynamic) but for those of you not in UK buying Pure, watch out for this one.
