Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - Mike - 06-08-2011 01:19pm It would not seem that all the grey metallic evoques in the videos and at the drive events etc that look fantastic are all Stornoway, not Orkney Grey. OG is lighter with a blue hint and in my mind does not look as impressive as Stornoway. Well that throws a major spanner in the works. ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - j7david - 06-08-2011 03:14pm It would not seem? RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - XFullFatTim - 06-08-2011 03:29pm Grey is Grey............... then Stornoway is dull and boring according to some, maybe Orkney is less dull and boring.........I've had 2 previous Range Rovers in Stornoway Grey, it may be dull and boring but it is a very practical colour - hardly shows the dirt and all the grey plastic bits are a near perfect colour match so it saves on body colour coding trim bits if you like that sort of thing! RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - QUATTROMAN - 06-08-2011 03:37pm I think we should start a petition for LR to bring back Stornoway by all cancelling our orders as this is just not right... I always believed it was Stornaway in the pictures and I also think the Galway Green picture is actually the discontinued Kosrae Green. The Luna Grey / Orkney grey is too light and contains too much blue / purple in the metallic -do a search on google images of Jaguar Luna Grey- Looks pants even on a Jag. take a look at link on the tube- bit tacky but shows the point :- RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - Mike - 06-08-2011 04:33pm I'am of the same opinion, why are Landrover showing a car in a colour that we can not get, come on Landrover sort yourselves out, how many have ordered Orkney Grey after seeing all the press photo's not realising in fact it is Stornoway. I will be speaking to my dealer monday to put a hold on the car until Stornoway is re-released. I am at the event in York tommorrow so will try and find out more info. RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - LP - 06-08-2011 04:37pm They never said it was Orkney Grey...so no. You are not being misled. Nice use of exclamation marks though. RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - Mike - 06-08-2011 04:43pm I realise that it was never said, but should they be showing a car in a colour that is not available, as you have seen on here people are presuming it to be Orkney Grey. This is inviting problems. RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - Charlie - 06-08-2011 05:46pm Wasn't this my major spanner? Because of the unavoidable situation in Japan we all knew some colours had been replaced. Always advisable to check if it's that crucial. As just mentioned who actually said it was Orkney? RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - berlin2011 - 06-08-2011 06:20pm Tell the difference…. 5 different 2011 FL2's all Stornoway? Or OG? Or are there some Stornoway and some OG? Do you like all of the colours? Or do you like one better than the others? The point is that most colours show differently in different light. I think too much is being made of the Stornoway vs OG thing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Same test, different car… one of these is OG the other three is Stornoway. Can you tell which is which? ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Orkney Grey, have we been misled !!!! - doug - 06-08-2011 06:50pm (06-08-2011 04:33pm)Mike Wrote: I'am of the same opinion, why are Landrover showing a car in a colour that we can not get, come on Landrover sort yourselves out, how many have ordered Orkney Grey after seeing all the press photo's not realising in fact it is Stornoway.
