Build Date Moved Forward - andyc747 - 16-11-2012 12:01am Was told by the dealer on 18/10 that my build should start W/C 3/12. Popped into the dealer today, (having got the vibe from the forum that some build dates have moved forward) & asked if my build date had changed? After a quick check, I was somewhat left speechless to be told mine has been built & is currently going through QC ![]() ![]() Better get that finance, GAP insurance & Gtechniq organised PDQ then! Woooooooooohooooooooooooo !!!!! RE: Build Date Moved Forward - Evo-king - 16-11-2012 12:07am Great news. RE: Build Date Moved Forward - andyc747 - 16-11-2012 12:33am It's also great news for everyone else who's enduring the (what seems like a ) never ending wait. Looking like a 4 month lead time? RE: Build Date Moved Forward - XFullFatTim - 16-11-2012 10:35am If RRE becomes like the other Land Rovers build at Solihull then there is always a 3 month lead in time for a factory build so don't expect it to get any better than that. You CAN get them quicker if the spec you request has already been built and is in the holding area waiting for despatch. In the UK at the moment LR still has a problem fulfilling orders for the UK market so all the cars are built to order (maybe to a dealers order as a demo or a car for stock or to customer order). RE: Build Date Moved Forward - Samson - 16-11-2012 07:23pm Great surprise. I remember I was told by the dealer on 2 Nov that my car was to go to build as scheduled on 9 Nov, only then to receive a very surprising email on 5 Nov that my car had been built! Also getting GTechniq applied - paint, wheels, windows and interior. Will post pics in due course. RE: Build Date Moved Forward - XFullFatTim - 16-11-2012 07:49pm My guess is that lr has saved up enough to buy another pot of Barolo Black paint as there seems to have been a batch of them gone through the factory. There should be Colima's , Havana's and Mauritius Blue's coming along shortly now they have enough back orders to justify a batch RE: Build Date Moved Forward - andyc747 - 16-11-2012 09:00pm I'm getting the GTecniq too, am going to get it but on as soon as it arrives at the dealers, full works so that new look stays as long as possible. I couldn't get my head around the painting process. He told us, that one body shell can go through and get painted Firenze, the next, Fuji and the next Black. Somehow the technology is so advanced the paint comes out of the same sprayer. I still don't believe it, but I guess it is true. RE: Build Date Moved Forward - k111kar - 22-11-2012 06:16pm Great news andyc747. I'm interested to know who's carrying out your GTecniq as I live close to MK and my car is due soon?
