Shake, Rattle & Roll ! - DynamicDRS - 09-11-2012 11:07pm

Hi all I'm a first time poster so please go easy on me.

I've had a recurring issue with my Evoque which has led to me having 3 door trims (on the dynamic coupe, the lower third of the door has a sports trim attached) replaced on my car.

I actually only noticed the rattle when I was outside of the car, as it was making such a din that passerby's heads were turning (more than normal I may add) when the music was playing at a volume level of around 30. The technician at my dealership established when he placed his finger on the lower door trim the rattling stopped, without his finger in his words, 'the car sounds like a rattling old Ford Escort Mark II !'

Finally after great efforts from my dealer, they've tried new trims, padding on the inside of the trim they've actually deduced the rattling/vibrating problem is present on other Dynamic coupe's and they've referred the fault to Land Rover Head Office upon whom we're waiting for a response.

Now I confess I do like my music loud but even so at volume level 30 the car shouldn't be sounding like the panels are about to shake off. Have any other Dynamic coupe owners noticed this issue ?

P.S. I do have the 825w Meridian system but that still shouldn't make the panels vibrate at normal volume levels.
P.S.S I love everything else about the car !!

My Sweet Vibrations and Rattle & Roll has gone !!

My dealership and Land Rover got together have come up with a solution and the rattles and vibrations are now no more!

I can finally turn the music up in my car and not hear anything other than ' Sweet Music'. I must say it's a relief after 5 visits. If anyone else has the problem they should put pressure on their dealership to resolve it, I can only thank mine for their persistance and resolve in solving the problem !!

One More Very Happy Customer !!! Cool Cool

Did you have the same issue with the door panels vibrating/ rattling when the music was turned up? I'm amazed more Dynamic Coupe owners haven't noticed the problem ? Confused

Maybe we don't all have to turn the audio volume so high to hear it............. Wink

Havent listened from outside with the music up, so will try that, mine was just an incessant rattle from the door card inside!

I've got mine back this week after 5 weeks - (yes you read that correctly) all centred on fixing rattles. LR sent their tech at Halewood who specialises in rattles (yes seriously) to the dealership to work on the car - it was all documented complete with photos apparently. Two more chaps from one of the companies that made a lot of the interior trim have also been on-site too.

Work included replacing door cards, the overhead console, pulling down the headlining at the rear and insulating the electronic modules located back there (wrapped in foam now) adjusting the tailgate, replacing the tailgate hinge cover...investigating rattles in the rear doors...a long list. Both the passenger and driver's doors both still creak - LR are about to introduce new door seals into production apparently (which fixes the problem better than lubrication which is the current solution). LR have proactively contacted the dealership and asked if they can get my car back in - a tech from Halewood is coming down tomorrow to do the job. Impressive customer service I think.

Impressive yes....but lucky for those who live in the same country as the factory Smile That rattle from the headlining at rear of the control modules that you mentioned, sounds close to the single rattle i once had. My dealership found it there after about 3 attempts of looking around, and said it was a loose wire or wires from an unfastening clip. They clipped it back tight, and all was well.

Factory techs have been to the dealership today and replaced the seals that run around the very top of all four doors - the rubber is noticeably softer than previously - no creaks.

Apparently they have done one other car - in Liverpool.

I have exactly this problem too in my Dynamic with the 825W system & also think of a boy racer in a Corsa etc. It too is noticeable when volume is from mid 20's. I have thaught it sounded crap from outside but have done nothing as I just assumed they all did it.

Mine is a 5 Door by the way.
