I can just see the warning on the centre display screen now:-
WARNING - LOW BATTERY -
START ENGINE OR SWITCH OFF RECHARGABLE TORCH WITHIN THREE MINUTES!

I guess the cost is because of mods to the cover and wiring.

Just got the install instructions for this if it helps, i know the thread is a little old so it may be no use now but here it is anyway.

I bet you will find that some "technician" who has serviced your car will have found a new home for this if you leave it in the boot at service time..........
