OK I know there some here for whom displays are an everyday occurence but here in Central Scotland we don't get to see them too often. I have tried to take some photos but my basic digital camera cannot take pictures of them very well so I've put up this link to the BBC Scotland website where there are some fantastic photos. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-19883715 I live not far from the location of the last photo

I've never see this natural phenomenon out of doors, though seen plenty in TV reports.

Flew back to the UK couple of days ago on a night flight and managed to get a RHS window seat, looking to the north, but even from 36,000 feet, didn't see anything.

One day I might get lucky.
