Evoque Unleashed - x5pea - 30-07-2011 07:31pm I attended todays event at Gleneagles in Scotland and LR really did put on a good day. The day was split into 3 sections Drive / Lunch / Off Road, and last around 4 hrs, was an awesome day. Mrs and i got let loose in a Black 5DR SD4 Prestige for 55 mins on a pre defined route lead by the Evoques Sat Nav, which was good to get a feel for the car act but sadly not the car we have ordered. I stopped along the way for a few pics and headed back for lunch, Lunch was excellent 5 star food then it was onto the off road experience where we all got a chance to put the Evoque through it paces on their course which despite being limited was excellent fun and the Evoque coped well. I was impressed by the car greatly but after driving i think its maybe not for us, Few pics below, any questions just ask. My Fav of the day RE: Evoque Unleashed - cybman - 30-07-2011 07:35pm awesome RE: Evoque Unleashed - XFullFatTim - 30-07-2011 07:45pm Good to see that Terrapod and the "axle twister" ramps were the same set-up as they used at Hopetoun House last October for the launch of the 4.4TDv8 FFRR which the LR drivers took us over in low ratio, so if RRE can do it without a low ratio the low down torque of the RRE must be very good indeed. The axle twister set up would certainly defeat my Defender which would loose traction half way through when the diagonally opposite wheels are off the ground and there's no traction control to brake the spinning wheels as all the power goes directly into the air! Great photos ...... thanks. I would be interested to know why it’s not for you... is it too small? You had an SD4 Prestige – I assume it’s the one in the pictures with 19” wheels..... I presume it didn’t have adaptive dampers. ....did you get to try a car with AD and 20” wheels (there seemed to be a lot about)or if not did you speak to anybody that had. RE: Evoque Unleashed - MPK - 30-07-2011 09:40pm Great photos! Were there any Ipanema Sand evoque's at the event? RE: Evoque Unleashed - MPK - 30-07-2011 09:40pm Great photos! RE: Evoque Unleashed - andyuk - 30-07-2011 10:37pm Great pictures thanks! Can you give us some more details like the actual drive & handling? Also was there big differences in appearance from the Pures to the Prestige models in looks? RE: Evoque Unleashed - vinny - 30-07-2011 11:20pm 1st time poster here after joining last night, paid my deposit today so now officially in the gang! As I didnt get today (on the reserve list) I decided to nip up to Gleneagles tonight for my first look at the car in the metal and I was well impressed with the 20 cars they had but a bit dissapointed in there being only dynamic and prestige models only as I have ordered a pure. I choose the white but after seeing the red tonight I am now thinking about changing it,not sure if its because all the red ones were dynamics and all the whites were prestige with the chrome wheels which I personally dislike that made them more attractive. Also none of the whites had privacy glass either which I like so couldnt directly compare white with red on the same model. The grey was described as Stornoway on the info sheet and that was a dynamic also the colour really suits the car but again not sure how it would look on a pure. |
