Mine closed on the remote the other for some reason, I clicked the open button on the fob twice in very quick succession by mistake, it came up to halfway and then closed again. Haven't been able to replicate it again but there must be some facility to have a motorised close from the remote as well as opening

The tailgate closes automatically when it's gap is about six inches or less. The soft close function takes over and pulls the tailgate close... you can try this manually. Maybe your second click stopped the tailgate at such position.

you've trained a hamster to hide in the tailgate and push the close button when you whistle ?
