Range Rover Allegiance - XFullFatTim - 13-08-2012 08:29am

11 months into Evoque ownership I have just received an invite to join Range Rover Allegiance............... an "exclusive loyalty programme for Range Rover owners" offering 20% discount on servicing , half price MOT's , discount on RR parts used in servicing my Range Rover and 10% off Land Rover Gear and Accessories.

There is a membership card included in with the letter and I was thinking how generous LR was to be thinking of half price MOT's when my Evoque still has another 2 years to go before it's first MOT and then I read the registration number of the car that the card is linked to.............. LR10 XFC, my last FFRR that left my ownership on September 8th 2011. What is stranger is that the letter comes from my local dealership who know that I no longer have the FFRR as they have seen me on their forecourt in the Evoque and I have chatted with several of the sales staff and the DP! I might try sneaking the Evoque on it's private plate in as a FFRR for a cheaper service and see what happens as they are so attentive!

Isn't allegiance for cars 3 years & over only. I used it on my old D3

Yes, and my last FFRR would have only been 2 years old this year too!

My dealer offers Free MOT for life, of course the money made on servicing and repairs will eat up the MOT cost instantly...

When I collected my car last week the salesman said it was free MOT for life, but on reading the paperwork its for 10 years.

Hmmm, does that highlight their assumed life expectancy...

Maybe that's a prediction on the longevity of the Evoque?

Pentland Land Rover in Edinburgh offer the Allegiance card on all new cars they sell

I've used it already to get a 20% discount on their 3 year service plan.

Well 10 years being the life of an Evoque is an improvement on the Freelander1's Viscous Coupling and rear diff - they were "sealed for life" but had to be opened and the fluid inside changed every 3 years!

Probably because most Range Rover's will have been stolen within 10 years.........
