Curiosity killed the cat - PhilSkill - 06-08-2012 10:37am Watched the NASA Mars Landing of the Curiosity Rover this morning, Impressive feat of engineering, Shame about the American, we're better than the rest of the world 70's bravado, cutting the crap, it's an amazing feat for mankind and an impressive team of people to conceive and achieve a controlled landing like that. Loved seeing it drop from Mach 2.2 to Mach 0.3 when the Parachute Deployed, and then to hover and winch the rover down safely, amazing. Look forward to what can be found out there now it's free to be curious. Anyone else notice the name sticker on the back of the guy's monitor in the video from Mission Control (I think it's at 24 seconds in the BBC video)? I know it could be a legitimate name, but the Chinese origin doesn't seem to tally with the guy sitting behind the screen and I just wondered if someone at NASA has a sense of humour... RE: Curiosity killed the cat - RacingSnake - 06-08-2012 06:39pm ^^ I hadn't until you made me go and look... purely because of the absence of the name in your post.
