Well it's here, and what a car it is!

Appt was at 9.30am yesterday which meant an 8am departure for pentland in Edinburgh. When we got there we were greeted by chris the salesman who ran over the first paperwork things, registration sheets etc. He then took us down to our handover bay which is underneath the showroom, our new evoque was sat in there looking absolutely perfect with my private plate on (the plate that was on my v6clio and was only out for 550 miles last year). It was great being able to look around the car inside and was like my own little mini showroom. Thumbs up to the showroom designers for what I'm sure is a popular feature of pentlands service now. Coffee and juice and a general 'take your time' attitude then followed and the staff were all over my little daughter Beau which is great as dad could listen to all about the new car. Phone synced, home address logged in and my gorgeous plus seats adjusted and saved to mine and jaynes spec (anyone considering the plus pack must have a look as they are simply stunning and IMO they are worth the money) By the time we had finished the sun was out and chris opened the doors and I drove up the ramp and parked next to my fiesta (mmm you really notice the difference, lol)

I then bought some rubber mats (discount from chris paid £75 which I though to be fair) and then drove off back down to visit mum and dad and show off my new toy. The car was brimmed full of diesel on behalf of pentland and was showing an average of 35mpg on the way home which is decent for an engine with 15 miles on it!!

I have some iPhone pics of the car when it was in the bay I will try and get uploaded ASAP. I am over the moon with the way it looks, drives and gets so much attention. Rubber necking rear passengers as they overtook me on the a1 was a common sight.
Spec wise I am over the moon with the choices I made and IMO anyone thinking of the extra £500 for the black contrast pano I personally wouldn't bother. I had a demo without the black and went for that choice myself and I am sooo chuffed I did. I feel contrasting roofs are a bit too mini cooper s for my liking but again IMO.

All in all one of the best purchases I have made.

Now roll on the 20th of august when out other baby is due!

Ian

5 months seems a long time but it's amazing how quickly it's come round.

What a terrific handover you got there.

One thing you need to do immediately is to remove your home address from the "home" setting of the satnav and just put it in as one of the addresses in the "previous" addresses. Never leave your own address in the Home setting, somebody steals your car from a car park and it's pretty easy for the to locate a possibly empty house. My "home" address is the supplying dealer's address 470 miles from my home!
