Colours for my next RRE - XFullFatTim - 06-06-2012 06:44pm The difficulty of two elderly parents both approaching the age when their driving licenses get revoked is looming and I run the risk of becoming a taxi driver to old folks................. well young 90 year olds! Now the Coupe is a great for me and one parent who sits in the front BUT for the unlucky one (usually my Mum) getting OUT of the back is a bit of a struggle, she can get in no problem and the slow seat motor isn't a problem. So as my car rapidly approaches it's first birthday I am considering a change of Evoque to a 5 door. It's going to be another Dynamic Plus Lux with all the options (even the unused ones that came in the Lux pack) that will be ordered but I am having agonies over the colour! Recently there was cracking picture of somebody's lovely new Firenze Red 5 door with the contrast roof and Panoroof, and even though Red cars don't do anything for me (almost as little as black ones) I though WOW that looks great with privacy and shadows........................ but then I also like Havana and Fuji and Barolo and........... well you get the picture! They all look good but which one to have? Or should I bite the bullet and go back to an RRS ? RE: Colours for my next RRE - Daigriff - 06-06-2012 09:55pm I think I'd plump for the Havana if I was choosing now Tim. You Deffo need a 5 door. I suppose whether you need to go back to a rr sport depends on whether you also need the boot space. Nice problem to have. I'm also pleased to say I wouldn't change any of my spec but would add heated wheel and auto boot. RE: Colours for my next RRE - XFullFatTim - 06-06-2012 10:28pm Dai, the heated wheel and the electric tailgate I would now class as must haves, I have them both. I could easily live without the auto park as I have never used it since getting the car. Coud also live without out the surround cams but have used them and the trailer hitching function. I line Havana too, would love it with tan Plus seats, but LR say it won't happen so might have to go boring black again for the interior, unless I can find out who makes the seats and upholstery and try to get some bespoke seats made. RE: Colours for my next RRE - J77 - 06-06-2012 10:45pm Tim there is a stunning Colima lime dynamic with black 20" wheels and black contrast roof (5dr) going around my area, it looks the business. If I were ordering tomorrow that's the colour for me. RE: Colours for my next RRE - PhilSkill - 07-06-2012 12:25am I'd be lured by Firenze or Mauritius now (Firenze was limited and Mauritius not available when we ordered!), Fuji is great but every new car seems to be in white now and I'd forgotten how the flys and their blood cover the front of white cars! Or how about something completely different Ipanema Sand! 5dr is way more practical, you wont regret the change although worth taking your parents to a showroom and checking they can get in the back easily enough, this was the same reason I bought the Mazda, chosen over the Honda Accord because of ease of rear door access (among other things), this was my first practical 5dr car and would only get any coupe as a fun extra car now. RE: Colours for my next RRE - timslim - 07-06-2012 08:27am Baltic blue for me - though I would consider getting a RRS too! RE: Colours for my next RRE - chiggy - 07-06-2012 09:24am Definitely the Firenze with a black contrast roof - it looks spectacular in both daylight and moonlight. I'm in the process of selling my Firenze at the moment with black contrast roof - cause of the issues i'm having with it at the moment and getting a Fuji Dynamic, but thats only because I don't want to wait another 6 months to get a replacement firenze and I'm happy to settle for a fuji dynamic. If I had to order again it would definitely be firenze again! Its spectacular and in the sunlight - the colour is beautiful! Its a good mix of light and dark so its dark enough to be like a "black" car which is always classy..but light enough to bring out the styling on the car which i think gets lost on the darker colours like Havana and Barolo. I say that more cause if you get Havana or Barolo - the grille, side vents etc are also black which means you lose that slight contrast which adds to the flavour of the car. RE: Colours for my next RRE - XFullFatTim - 07-06-2012 03:14pm Ipanema is good and I saw Griffs car at Halewood, it is a colour that looks particularly good on Disco4 and RRS too but doesn't suit FFRR. If only I could have another Stornoway Grey.................................
